Hurrah, A Photo Post!

Greetings!

I'm really excited because today is the SECOND DAY OF SUMMER! Not only does summer mean loads of good food, bike rides and long days, the beginning of June marks the very VERY short countdown to MY BIRTHDAY!!

This year it kinda snuck up on me, which is very abnormal (usually by March I'm counting minutes) and I am not exactly prepared for my big day, HOWEVER! A few days ago I had mentioned to my roommates that I had never had white russians, and that I would like to, and that it sounded like a nice yummy drink for summer parties. One thing led to another and I invited a few people over to my house just to hang out and maybe do "party-like" things, INCLUDING watching The Big Lebowski! So it's an actual event now, which is lovely. And who knows, maybe everyone will make it!

In other news, I have had a pretty damn good week! I made a couple of purchases that I have been meaning to make for a while, including getting an adapter for my SD card, a Moleskine sketchbook, and a dust plug for my phone. In addition to that, James and I went to an antique store and we were on the lookout for gifts for his mother's birthday. Though I cannot show you what we got for her, I can include some photos of things I desperately wanted to get, but at this point in the pay period, I will have to wait.

I collect religious iconography! What a happy little Jesus!

A small wooden portrait of a mushroom! This would fit so nicely into our kitchen!

I wanted this fish more than anything in the whole world. If it wasn't $30 I would have bought it!
A little poodle planter! One of the few baby planters I have found without creepy eyes!
This plate looked real sad all by itself, and would have made an awesome addition to our collection of mushroom dishes.
This mini-chest was AMAZING and all hand carved/painted!
This clock actually would match perfectly to the couch we have in our living room, and it's sad I couldn't get it.  :(
And add this to the list of things James wont ever let me buy because it has "creepy eyes"! Hehe

And since I can never ever ever resist a unicorn print, I ended up getting this little gem for $2!

We ended up getting a couple of cute little things for Susanne (James's mother) because her birthday is on the 8th! Her and I have been wishing each other a happy early birthday for a couple weeks now! I'm going to update next week on presents and whatnot, her party, my party, and all the cool food we eat, so get excited!

In the meantime, what would your ideal birthday party be like? Leave a comment and let me know how your perfect birthday would go!

XOXO
